Tricia Cassady is committed to making a difference in the life of a young teenager. As a mentor for B.E.S.T., Boulder County Enhanced Supervision Team, Cassady meets with her mentee once a week to offer support, encouragement or simply a listening ear.

B.E.S.T. is a mentoring program within the Boulder County Justice System which offers support to juveniles involved in the system to help them stay out of juvenile detention and thrive in their community.

Cassady says, "I find it inspiring and rewarding to be able to help and offer support to someone as they turn their life around."

Anne Brubacher, B.E.S.T. Program Coordinator, adds, "Tricia has been a stable part of this teenager's life through many life changing events. She has gone above and beyond - when her mentee moved out of the county, she made the drive and stayed in close contact with her."

Cassady's mentee is not the only one who benefits from the relationship. "We always have a good time together and it is definitely one of the highlights of my week," says Cassady.
