Celebrating 40 years in Boulder County!
Established in 1969 as a division of the United Way, the
Volunteer Connection was one of the first volunteer information and referral
centers in the nation. Our mission is to promote volunteerism, connect volunteers
with opportunities and help organizations effectively engage volunteers to
meet community needs. We annually refer thousands of families, individuals,
youth, businesses, corporate and service groups to over 400 agencies and governmental
programs in need of volunteers.
Our first director was Marlene Wilson, a world-renowned
author and trainer in volunteer management. In 1983, we incorporated as
a nonprofit agency, and in 1991 became known as the Volunteer Connection.
We have an office in Boulder,
and help refer volunteers to organizations throughout Boulder County.
