Stacy Blanchard
with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers
by Anna Fine

Stacy Blanchard doesn't mind getting her hands dirty--in fact; she seizes every opportunity to do so. An active member of Wildands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) since 2006, Blanchard is fiercely dedicated to restoring public lands.

Blanchard discovered WRV by accident at the Boulder Creek Festival three years ago. She had recently moved to Boulder and didn't know anyone, so she decided to give the organization a try. Her first project in Left Hand Canyon left an indelible impression on her.

Once she became active in the group, Blanchard quickly rose to leadership positions within WRV. She happily helps out wherever she's needed, doing everything from acting as Crew Leader for outdoor projects to working in marketing and communications for the group. In her free time, Blanchard enjoys volunteering for at least three other organizations.

Blanchard remains committed to environmental restoration because she sees results. Recalling her first experience with WRV, she explains how her minimal work had such a positive impact on the environment. "I was struck by how tangible our work was," Blanchard says. "Every person made a difference."
