When it comes to the construction of a new home for those who are not fortunate
enough to have a home of any kind to begin with, the task is not easy. The process
requires the hard work and expertise of many different individuals.
Steve
Breffle, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, has contributed
over 500 hours of his time to help build sixteen houses for low-income families.
Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, the local affiliate of Habitat for
Humanity International, brings local, everyday people together to help improve
the lives of families in need.
Breffle's job is to work on the construction
site and other various issues such as warranties. His knowledge in home construction
and repair comes from 20 years of work in his own handyman business, The Job Shop.
In addition to on-site work, Breffle also teaches a home maintenance class for
families who live in the new homes.
What he loves most, though, is how blessed he feels after his work and dedication. "It's really worthwhile," Breffle said, "I get more out of the program than I give."
