Barbara Taylor
with Eco-Cycle
by Kaitlyn Reeser

Barbara Taylor has been an influential figure in the waste management world since the early 90's, but her devotion to her volunteer work at Eco-Cycle has allowed her to make a much greater difference in her community.

Taylor established herself as an Eco-Leader in her neighborhood and nearby community, wherein she and twelve other volunteers distribute information about recycling and the Eco-Cycle program to their neighbors.

Says Taylor, "I feel good about doing something in my neighborhood as opposed to something political. I know how busy people are, but I feel that encouraging people to get informed and do what they can to make the world a better place is very rewarding."

Taylor prides herself in being a "Waste Person." Throughout her volunteer career she has always sought to find ways to save the world's resources.

"My mother used to say 'You are what you leave behind.' Now this usually applies to the good things you do, but if you leave behind messes and poor things, it also shows something about you. Recycling is a great way to 'walk the walk' and make the world a better place."
