Art Wisson
with Longmont Ending Violence Initiative
by LaDaryn Backstrum

Art Wisson's inquisitiveness about the police department led him to volunteer for LEVI, Longmont Ending Violence Initiative. " It turns out I made many good friends and satisfied my curiosity about the police department," said Wisson.

Formed in 1998 after Longmont experienced several violent domestic assaults; LEVI is a collective group of over 30 agencies that provide resources to combat domestic violence.

Since 2005, Wisson has performed administrative work including sending all the mailings, bulletins and other information that LEVI needs to give to the public. He also takes the pressure off of people in the office. Wisson explained, "I make sure the mailing schedules are complete and ready to go!"

LEVI's Kim Heard said, "Art helped on the White Ribbon Campaign in June as well as the latest LEVI mail fundraiser. In addition, he greets and provides information to people at the Administration Desk at the Safety and Justice Center every Thursday morning. We really appreciate the time he volunteers with LEVI and would like to recognize his dedication and support!"

Wisson finished, "I hope what little I've contributed might help folks find a solution to their problems."
