Something for Everyone!
This site will include a variety of activities for everyone. We'll be making quilts for Project Linus, decorating meal bags for Project Angel Heart and assembling White Ribbons for the Longmont Ending Violence Initiative. These projects are appropriate for families with smaller children and individuals with disabilities. Volunteers do not have to stay for the entire four hours at this site. Also, please note that this site is available for drop-ins, although you may register in advance as well. Everyone is welcome!

Brooms in the Basement & Beyond

Mission: To conserve natural, cultural and agricultural resources and provide public uses that reflect sound resource management and community values.
Restoration Day for Preble's Meadow Jumping Mouse
Join in the creation of a suitable habitat for the Preble's Meadow Jumping Mouse and threatened species in Colorado, protected under the Endnagered Species Act. We'll be planting cottonwood trees along a restored creek.The trees planted on this day will join approximately 2000 other shrubs planted last year to restore the creek. The project will include digging holes, planting trees, and watering trees. Other activities available may include weeding, fence work and watering other planted shrubs.

Boulder Housing Partners needs your help to accomplish spring clean-up and yard work at various Elderly/Disabled Housing Partner locations! 9: Cal-Wood Education Center
Mission:
We provide outdoor-science-based residential programs to schools from the Front Range of Colorado. Cal-Wood's goals are: 1) to help all who come to Cal-Wood develop a greater appreciation for the natural world 2) to offer environmental education to those who would not otherwise experience it; and 3) to provide unique outdoor education opportunities in a special mountain setting.
Forestry & Land Management
Cal-Wood is located on 1200 acres of forested mountain land north of the old mining town of Jamestown. Volunteers will haul slash (branches), make slash piles and spread woodchips on roads and trails.

Mission:
The Center for People With Disabilities (CPWD) provides information, resources and advocacy to assist people with disabilities in overcoming barriers to independent living. To accomplish our mission, CPWD provides a comprehensive support network of flexible and intensive services that build each person’s ability to live independently. The goal of these services is to increase the self-reliance of people with disabilities, support their families, educate other community agencies, and address discrimination.
Garden Prep & Plant Galore!
Planting, weeding, cleaning, Oh My! Center for People With Disabilities' Accessible Garden has been designed specifically for people of all disabilities and is completely accessible for people who have mobility challenges (people in wheelchairs and walkers). It has also been designed for people who are blind or low vision, so that all people can enjoy the fruits of the Garden. (Even rabbits and deer visit our Accessible Garden)! Help us prepare the garden for growing vegetables that will be used in the nutrition and cooking classes which take place on-site. We'll re-stain the gazebo, trellis and benches, plant rose bushes & bulbs, mulch, play in the dirt and possibly re-build the picnic table and garden boxes.

Peace Works Conference Preparation
Help us train & coach youth and at risk families to prevent child abuse and create ethical, successful students by assisting with our Peace Works Conference projects. We will have many activities to help get ready for our upcoming conference. There's much to do. We will print posters and character cards, laminate them, stuff and organize folders, work on a data base for participants, send out contracts and organize toys and other materials.

Mission: Colorado Horse Rescue (CHR) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency relief, shelter, care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted horses. CHR provides community resources through equine education, counseling, information and referral services. CHR is funded through individual donations, grants, bequests and corporate sponsorships.
Spruce Up the Horse Farm
Enjoy the morning fresh air, a little bit of exercise, beautiful views and sunshine! Come out to our farm to help horses in need. Choose from a variety of projects including, but not limited to, gardening, spring cleaning our barn and office, and putting a fresh coat of paint on our horse stalls.

Turtle & Tortoise Habitat Improvements
Help finish our newest Box Turtle habitat. We'll be cleaning and preparing habitats; building raised flower beds; planting plants and bushes and cleaning up winter debris. We'll also prepare our Desert Tortoise habitat for their spring release from hibernation along with getting everything ready for summer.

Mission: Community Cycles (CC) is a non-profit organization of bicycle enthusiasts whose mission is to aducate and advocate for the safe use of bicycles as an affordable, viable and sustainable means of transportation and personal enjoyment within our community. CC provides re-cycled bikes and a welcoming space to learn about bicycle repair, maintenance and operation through outreach and advocacy activities.

Community Cycles has over 400 bikes that need some TLC. We're taking them ALL out of storage to do minor repairs; fixin' flats, cleaning & more, then returning them to storage in an orderly fashion. Be part of this bike recycling process to ensure that those in need have a sturdy set of wheels!

Mission: Growing Gardens’ mission is to enrich the lives of Boulder County residents through environmentally sustainable gardening programs that empower people to experience a direct and deep connection with plants, the land and each other.
Spring in the Garden
Come join us to celebrate Earth Day and Spring with friends and family. Growing Gardens will have several opportunities to get your hands in the soil planting and preparing for the summer growing season. Cultiva will be hosting volunteers to transplant, weed, and prepare beds with Cultiva Youth. The Hawthorn Community Gardens will be hosting a path project and to lend a hand to gardeners who need a little help with the spring cleanup. The Childrens' Peace Garden will have volunteers help with prepare beds, turn the soil, and create a fun and nurturing environment for the little ones. Horticultural Therapy Garden will need to prepare the soil for planting, and keeping the pathways clear for wheel chairs. In the Greenhouse, we will be transplanting heirloom tomato starts for the Ginormous Plant Sale. We will have plenty of smiles and wonderful work. "Dig in!"

24: Longmont Ending Violence Initiative (LEVI)
Mission: To establish a coordinated community-wide awareness and response to domestic violence in Longmont.
Ribbon Assembly
The White Ribbon Campaign is a campaign to enlist men in the effort to end violence against women. We need to assemble 5,500 white ribbons for men to wear during the campaign. Domestic Violence Awareness Month takes place every October and purple is the color for domestic violence awareness. We need to assumble several thousand purple ribbons, as well.

Mission: ReSource (aka ReSource Yard), promotes waste reduction through innovative landfill diversion programs. The ReSource Yard salvages used building materials and resells them at great prices, making it possible to reuse and recycle building materials that are traditionally discarded during construction and demolition (C&D) and basic remodeling.
From Trash to Treasure
Learn how to turn trash into reusable construction materials. Volunteers will help in the processing of lumber. This includes de-nailing, cutting and sorting dimensional lumber for resale. We have special pneumatic tools that make this job fun and social. You can even talk with your friends while working; all while enjoying one of the best views in Boulder! All the work we do will be done overlooking the snow-capped Rockies.

Yeah, Spring Cleaning! We will break up in to groups to accomplish a few different tasks. One group will work on prepping and planting our flower bed for the spring. The second group will work on sprucing up the grounds by trimming weeds, raking leaves and picking up trash. The thrid group will work together to make some hand-painted signs for our Teen Clinic in Longmont.

Spring Cleanup: Help the Pride House Yard Look Fabulous!
We have over 500 people visiting and utilizing the Boulder Pride House each year, and want to create a yard that is welcoming and pleasant for folks to visit and hang out in. This year we will be cleaning-up the yard and planting new plants and bulbs…to make it a bright and cheerful place for those who visit, as well as those who are simply strolling by. We are right next door to Lucille’s, which means our neighborhood gets a lot of foot-traffic, especially on the weekends!

Project 35: Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley
Mission: Habitat for Humanity is a people-to-people partnership drawing families and communities together with volunteers and resources to build decent, affordable housing. Habitat is committed to the development and uplifting of families and communities, not only to the construction of houses. We build with people who are living in inadequate housing and who are unable to secure adequate housing by conventional means.
Hammer for a Home
Volunteering on Construction worksites is not just for hammering and nailing. It also provides a unique opportunity for friendship, fellowship, teamwork and bonding. Volunteers often have an opportunity to work alongside Habitat Homeowners who are working to achieve their necessary volunteer hours. Hands-on construction volunteerism provides a sense of achievement, is empowering, and leaves a lasting contribution to the community.
